The Reichian Orgastic Wave: A Hands-On Training
January 20
6-hour Workshop intensive “Temple Bodywork”
Meredith Sands Keator (Canada). www.templebody.com
For those interested in learning more about hands on work and how to release areas of tension most effectively, this is a crash course in working with the body from a powerfully interconnected place. Whether you are a well trained Somatic (hands-on) therapist or new to physical work, drawing together various perspectives in bodywork helps us see the unity between methods, eradicating the need for differences between techniques while it allows us to put our knowledge into practical application within a short period of time. This unity in bodywork is called Neural Resonance Therapy and it increases skill at any level, accelerating results. Massage therapists, sexual energy practitioners and all others who work with the body hands on will leave with a practical and inspiring insight that can be used immediately in their private practice.
Morning session: 3 hours
According to Wilhelm Reich, the orgasm is a kind of regulator of the human energy system and healthy sexual release is needed to free the system of debilitating congestion that may cause physical or mental distress. This congestion accumulates in specific areas throughout the body and knowledge of where and how this energy may stagnate is the key to understanding how to release it. While this course does not include genital work, and the course content is not just for therapists who want to work through direct sexual release, knowledge of different systems gives helps us locate points on the body that habitually will contract in the subconscious attempt to prevent release.
We will outline the Reichian bands of tension and see their relationship to Taoist belts of tension, meridian structure as well as Kundalini and chakra flow. Seeing unity in forms of bodywork removes the need to 'learn a specific technique' and allows us to incorporate our collective understanding of the body into our own way of working.
Afternoon session: 3 hours
Working hands on we locate specific points that utilise all the mornings information and allow us to create and feel releases in the body. This will allow students to see how to use this work as an added tool in their already-established practice or inspire others to start working hands on with confidence!
